A forest retreat built for rest, quiet, and the kind of space that lets you breathe again.
Prunella started as a simple idea between two sisters: build a place where people could genuinely slow down. Inspired by our father’s work in construction and a shared love for the forest, we designed and built each A-frame ourselves — choosing every material, shaping the land, and making every decision with care. We named it after a native plant (Prunella) known for its quiet healing properties. That felt right. This is a place built for exactly that — a quieter kind of restoration, rooted in nature.

We believe rest should feel effortless. Every cabin is designed to slow the pace — warm interiors, natural materials, and nothing that doesn’t belong. The forest does most of the work. We just try not to get in the way.

This property sits on 75 acres of protected forest, and we take that responsibility seriously. We build with locally sourced and reclaimed materials wherever possible, limit our footprint on the land, and let the forest lead. There are no clear-cuts, no manicured lawns — just trails, trees, and the kind of quiet that only comes from leaving things mostly untouched.

A protected forest setting with space to wander, disconnect, and breathe.
Thoughtfully designed cabins for couples, families, and quiet escapes.
Year-round comfort, with direct access to nature.
Close enough to escape easily, far enough to feel completely away.
“Prunella was absolutely fantastic. We could not have enjoyed our stay more. There are many lovely touches inside.
Hosts have covered all the details. Plus, they’ve got one of the best house book instructions that I’ve ever seen"
